17 June 21 - Mikes Margarita Rentals - 7 Tips to Help You Throw an Amazing Summer Pool Party

Summer is here! What better way to celebrate but to throw a summer pool party?

While there’s little that can substitute the feeling of a warm summer afternoon spent with your friends at the pool, putting together a pool party can be exhausting if you don’t plan it right. An awesome pool party consists of a good guest list, great music, delicious food, and of course, no accidents!

We’ve got some tips to help you make your pool party a success. Keep reading!

  1. Create a Comfortable Space to Sit

Your guests won’t be in the pool for the entire duration of the party. Be sure to make room for a comfortable seating area. Put down some waterproof picnic or beach towels and add some outdoor pillows so your guests have backrests. If you have good outdoor furniture, it’s a plus! That way, you and your guests will have a place to sit out of the water.

  1. Add Shade to the Area

There should be a shaded area where you can set up the food and where everybody can come together and eat. In case you don’t have a shaded area, get a big umbrella or drape some fabric across the area to make some shade.

  1. Have Low Tables

Having a low table is important, especially when you set up a picnic area. The good news is that even if you don’t have one, you don’t need to spend money on a low table. Just use whatever is available at home, such as wooden crates. You can even temporarily relocate an old nightstand or ping pong table. Make sure you use a table that can withstand a bit of water.

  1. Add Decorations

Sure, you can have a pool party without it, but some decor goes a long way! Spice the venue up and make it feel more festive. Decorate the area to make it more fun. You can always order some of your decorations online and there are many options you can choose from.

  1. Use Soft Lighting at Night

If you will have the pool party at night or it will last through the night, use soft lighting only. Soft lights are easier on the eyes and attract fewer bugs. You can use strand lights to serve as soft lighting for your pool party, and there’s the bonus of them making the area even more Instagrammable.

  1. Use Disposable But Durable Serveware

The clean-up process at every party is always the most daunting, especially when all you want to do is rest. You should use disposable serveware that is durable so all you need to do when it’s clean-up time is to throw them away or recycle the pieces.

  1. Serve Cool Drinks and Delicious Snacks

Make sure you have cool drinks and delicious snacks for your guests. If you have a theme, align the drinks and snacks to it. If you don’t, just make sure you have the right drinks and snacks that your guests will love. After all, what is a pool party without the drinks and treats, right?

One quintessential pool party treat is margaritas. After all, who doesn’t love the feeling of the frosty, sour, tangy drink to combat the warmth of the season? Your guests will love being able to fill up their glasses and celebrate this time of the year. With so many guests though, the blender may not be the most efficient choice. Our solution: hire a margarita machine!
